What the Role Involves
As a Trainee Manager, you’ll be supporting the Branch Manager in all aspects of running a successful retail store. This includes:
- Assisting with daily operations, from sales and merchandising to stock and cash management
- Ensuring the store runs smoothly, cleanly, and efficiently to create a top-class customer experience
- Handling customer complaints and ensuring service excellence
- Managing promotions, product placement, and store displays
- Taking care of store administration, including stock orders, staff paperwork, reports, and sales tracking
- Supporting team management, including helping with schedules, staff performance, and training
- Making sure safety, health, and store policies are followed
- Monitoring daily targets and driving store performance
- Preventing stock loss and maintaining financial and system controls
What You’ll Need to Apply
Minimum Requirements:
- Grade 12 with Mathematics and English (Compulsory)
- At least 2 years of experience in a retail environment
Preferred (Advantageous):
- A relevant tertiary qualification in retail management or similar
Key Skills & Knowledge:
- Solid understanding of retail operations: sales, stock control, banking, merchandising, and admin
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365
- Strong communication, leadership, and people management skills
- Ability to work under pressure, multitask, and remain customer-focused at all times
