About the MTPA (Mpumalanga Tourism & Parks Agency) Learnerships 2025-2026
MTPA (Mpumalanga Tourism & Parks Agency) is offering learnership programmes interested in pursuing knowledge and skills to obtain a National Certificate. The MTPA (Mpumalanga Tourism & Parks Agency) Learnerships encompass 12-month programs that immerse participants in a well-organized curriculum. This curriculum seamlessly integrates theoretical assessments with hands-on practical sessions conducted in a live company environment. Throughout this journey, you will receive guidance from seasoned training providers, fostering an environment where significant progress is not only encouraged but expected as you strive to attain a recognized qualification.
The MTPA (Mpumalanga Tourism & Parks Agency) Learnerships are available for the following field:
- National Certificate in Nature Conservation: Resource Guardianship NQF Level: 02: X52
Learnership students will be entitled will be entitled to a stipend of R3 500/month.
Key Responsibilities:
- Contribute to various operational activities, including fire management, ecological rehabilitation and restoration, infrastructure upkeep, monitoring of flora and fauna, plant propagation, and administrative duties
- Monitor and manage the removal of invasive plant species
- Participate in all required training programs and learner support sessions
- Engage with community members, local residents, businesses, and organizations to promote environmental education and encourage active participation in conservation efforts
- Complete assigned tasks on schedule, aligning with practical learning experiences in the reserves
- Support the conservation and protection of biodiversity within reserves and designated conservation areas
Collect and record ecological data to support conservation objectives.
Eligibliity Criteria

- Apply if you are an unemployed South African aged 18-35 years old
- Obtain Grade 12 qualification
- Include a Curriculum Vitae (CV) in your application
- Attach a copy of your ID

- Applicant must be interested in working outdoors and doing practical work
- Reside in the Mpumalanga Province
- Ensure you are not currently enrolled in any tertiary institution

Candidates will need to submit their application letter (please indicate the programme that you are signing up for. Additionally, you will need to provide the following documents:

- Your most updated Curriculum Vitae
- Grade 12 Certificate
- Valid proof of residence
- A copy of your Identity Document
All these documents must be included in your applications. Incomplete application dossiers will automatically be disqualified.
Late & emailed application WILL NOT be considered.
By submitting your applications, you are expressly granting authorization to the selection committee to use your personal information for the purpose of registration.
Furthermore, all applications will undergo comprehensive review and vetting processes to verify the legitimacy of the applicants. Individuals discovered to have provided false information on their applications will be disqualified from the registration process.
It is imperative that candidates complete the application process exclusively through the designated portal mentioned above. Submissions through alternative methods, such as fax, will not be entertained or considered by the selection committee.
Closing Date
Applications for the MTPA (Mpumalanga Tourism & Parks Agency) Learnership must be submitted before the closing date on 08 July 2025 at 16:00.
The selection committee strictly enforces a policy of zero tolerance for late applications. Any submissions received after the closing date will not be considered during the registration period.
Only shortlisted candidates will receive announcements. If you do not receive notification from the selection committee within 30 days after the closing date, unfortunately, your application for the learnership program has not been successful.
