What We’re Looking For
Minimum Requirements:
- Education: National Senior Certificate.
- Registration: PSIRA Grade C registration with the Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority (PSIRA).
- Experience: At least 3 years in a high-risk security environment.
- Skills: Strong communication skills in English (both verbal and written), including report writing.
- License: A valid driver’s license with the ability to operate a vehicle.
- Firearm Competency: Must possess a firearm competency certificate issued by SAPS or be able to obtain one for handgun, shotgun, self-loading rifle, or carbine.
- Citizenship: Proven South African citizenship.
- Teamwork: Ability to work in a team and results-oriented, willing to work shifts.
- Screening: Successful completion of pre-employment psychological, credit, and criminal record checks.
- Medical Fitness: Must be declared medically fit for the position and environment, as assessed by Sibanye-Stillwater Occupational Health Centre.
Advantageous Qualifications:
- Certificates in crowd control management, tactical firearm handling, defensive techniques, or advanced driving skills.
- Certification in handling and use of firearms for business purposes.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the safety of Sibanye-Stillwater’s resources, employees, and visitors through access control, guarding, observation, and patrolling.
- Inspect buildings and infrastructure to ensure security, addressing any identified risks.
- Execute Access Control Procedures to verify the identity and status of employees, contractors, and visitors.
- Conduct random and scheduled patrols on foot or in vehicles as required.
- Protect employees and visitors on-site by following established safety protocols.
- Assist in crowd facilitation and provide first-line reaction during criminal incidents.
- Maintain a professional, customer-friendly security presence.
- Control the entrance and exit of people and vehicles per approved procedures.
- Conduct appropriate searches as per approved protocols.
- Report suspicious behavior or potential risks to supervisors and request backup when needed.
