Minimum Requirements

Duties and Responsibilities

The successful candidates will be responsible for cleaning and maintaining the interior and exterior areas of Tambo Memorial Hospital.

Main responsibilities will include:

  • Cleaning bathrooms, showers, offices, wards, passages and waiting areas
  • Sweeping, washing, scrubbing, mopping and polishing floors
  • Cleaning windows, stairs, fire escapes and walls
  • Dusting furniture, surfaces and equipment
  • Cleaning medical equipment and refrigerators
  • Emptying rubbish bins
  • Removing general and medical waste
  • Cleaning spillages
  • Keeping patient and public areas clean and hygienic
  • Following hospital cleaning procedures and policies
  • Complying with Occupational Health and Safety requirements
  • Following Infection Prevention and Control procedures
  • Handling healthcare waste according to the relevant policy
  • Rotating between different hospital areas when required
  • Performing other duties assigned by supervisors
