Description
Starke Ayres is the foremost African specialist and global supplier of premium vegetable, flower and lawn seed varieties – both for commercial and home garden planting. The following position has become available for a General Worker in our Maintenance Department, based in Kempton Park.
Responsibilities
Assist with general garden maintenance including watering, weeding, pruning, and planting across the company premises
Maintain neat, clean, and well-presented outdoor areas, pathways, and entrances at all times
Support the maintenance team with seasonal garden preparation and landscaping tasks
Remove refuse and garden waste and ensure all areas are kept free of litter and debris
Basic care and upkeep of lawn areas including mowing and edging
Assist with potting, transplanting, and general plant care as directed
Report damaged plants, irrigation faults, or maintenance concerns to the supervisor timeously
Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions
Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
Previous gardening or grounds maintenance experience preferred but not essential — willingness to learn is valued
Requirements
REQUIREMENTS:
Grade 12 National Senior Certificate
Gardening experience (preferential)
Knowledge on gardening equipment (advantage)
English Literate
