About the Rand Water Public Service Administrator Learnership 2026
Rand Water is inviting unemployed South African youth to apply for its Public Service Administrator Learnership Programme 2026 at NQF Level 5. This contract-based programme will be hosted in Glenvista, Rietvlei, Gauteng under the Strategic Human Capital portfolio.

The learnership is designed to provide participants with practical administrative training and workplace experience within the public service environment. Successful candidates will gain exposure to office administration systems, customer service processes, records management, and departmental coordination while developing valuable professional skills.

Participants may be expected to perform duties that include:

  • Assisting with meeting coordination and scheduling activities
  • Preparing reports, presentations, spreadsheets, and official correspondence
  • Maintaining filing systems and electronic office records
  • Responding to public and internal enquiries professionally
  • Capturing and updating administrative data
  • Supporting departmental projects and programme activities
  • Handling incoming and outgoing communication and mail
  • Taking minutes during meetings and maintaining accurate documentation
  • Ensuring compliance with public service procedures and policies
  • Using Microsoft Office applications and office administration systems effectively.

Learnership Requirements
Applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:

  • Must be a South African citizen with a valid South African ID
  • Must be between 18 and 35 years old
  • Must currently be unemployed
  • Must not be registered for another qualification or learnership programme
  • Must not possess a completed post-matric qualification
  • Must have a Grade 12 (Matric) certificate
  • Mathematics must be at Level 4 or above OR Maths Literacy at Level 5 or above
  • Must also have either Physical Science or Business Studies at Level 4 or above
  • Must provide a SAQA/NLRD verification report
  • Must demonstrate good verbal and written communication skills
  • Should be self-motivated and results-driven.
