Minimum Requirements

Applicants must have an NQF Level 3 qualification, such as:

  • Grade 8
  • ABET certificate
  • AET certificate
  • An equivalent qualification recognised by SAQA

Skills and Knowledge Needed

  • Cleaning kitchens, restrooms, equipment and state property
  • Emptying office dustbins daily and disposing of refuse correctly
  • Checking bathrooms regularly to ensure cleanliness
  • Cleaning windows inside and outside
  • Keeping cleaning materials and equipment neat and safely stored
  • Requesting cleaning materials when needed
  • Assisting with the preparation of boardrooms for meetings
  • Serving water, tea and coffee when required

This role is important because cleaners help create a professional, hygienic and comfortable workplace for employees, visitors and service users.
