About the TotalEnergies Millwright Apprenticeship 2026
This apprenticeship programme offers hands-on training within the Lubricants Manufacturing Plant (LMP) in Durban. Successful candidates will gain practical workplace exposure in an engineering environment while working closely with the plant’s maintenance team. The programme integrates both theoretical instruction and on-the-job training to develop technical competencies aligned with industry standards.

Location: Durban, South Africa (Wharfside & Causeway Road)

Participants will be expected to actively engage in all learning components while supporting daily plant operations and adhering to company procedures and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in both theoretical training sessions and practical workplace learning activities as required by the training provider
  • Support maintenance operations by assisting the plant team with daily technical tasks
  • Ensure compliance with all HSSEQ (Health, Safety, Security, Environment, and Quality) standards and consistently wear required PPE
  • Maintain accurate records, including logbooks, timesheets, and project documentation related to the apprenticeship programme
  • Follow all site-specific rules, company policies, and work instructions during task execution
  • Apply risk assessments, permits, and method statements before performing any assigned duties
  • Report unsafe conditions, hazards, or incidents immediately to supervisors or engineers
  • Contribute to maintaining equipment and workspaces in line with operational and quality standards
  • Be available for overtime, weekend work, and standby duties when required
  • Comply with Management of Work (MoW) procedures for all assigned tasks

Apprenticeship Requirements

  • Grade 12 (Matric) with Mathematics and Physical Science
  • N3, N4, N5, or N6 qualification in Mechanical or Electrical/Electronic Engineering from a recognized South African college
  • Physically fit and capable of performing demanding technical tasks
  • Willingness to work at heights (e.g., tanks, elevated platforms)
  • Ability to operate in confined spaces such as tanks and vessels
  • Strong commitment to completing both theoretical and practical training components.
