Role Purpose
To manage and represent the Road Accident Fund in all High Court litigation matters, including third-party claims, mediation, settlements, legal advisory services, and taxation of bills of costs, in compliance with South African law.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle High Court litigation and court appearances
- Draft pleadings, conduct legal research, and prepare cases for trial
- Manage mediation processes in line with court rules
- Settle non-litigious matters before trial
- Provide legal opinions and advisory services to RAF
- Perform taxation and bill of costs services
- Prepare statutory, management, and governance reports
- Manage stakeholders, service providers, and internal teams
- Lead, coach, and manage legal staff in line with RAF strategy
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LLB or equivalent)
- Postgraduate qualification in Law (advantageous)
- Admission as an Attorney of the High Court or Advocate
- Right of Appearance in the High Court
- 5–7 years post-admission legal experience, including at least 2 years in Personal Injury Litigation
