Humana People to People in South Africa seeks to recruit three Cleaners. The successful applicants will be based across the following districts in Limpopo Sekhukhune (1), Mopani (1) and Capricorn (1).
Job Purpose
The Cleaner is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment within the Sex Worker Safe Space. The role supports infection prevention, hygiene, and dignity for clients, staff, and visitors, in line with health and safety standards and organizational policies.
The HPPSA is looking for candidates who can demonstrate the following qualities:
Key Roles and Responsibilities
- Clean and maintain all areas of the safe space, including offices, consultation rooms, bathrooms, and common areas.
- Disinfect high-touch surfaces and ensure hygiene standards are consistently upheld.
- Manage waste, including medical and sanitary waste, in accordance with health and safety protocols.
- Ensure the safe space remains tidy, safe, and welcoming at all times.
- Replenish cleaning materials, toiletries, and consumables and report shortages promptly.
- Report maintenance issues, damage, or safety hazards to the Safe Space Coordinator.
- Follow organizational policies on infection prevention, occupational health and safety, confidentiality, and respectful conduct.
- Actively participate in ongoing personal and professional development to ensure that knowledge and practices related to infection prevention and control, occupational health and safety, confidentiality, and respectful conduct remain current and are consistently applied in the workplace.
Minimum Requirements
- Minimum education level: Grade 8 (advantage).
- Previous cleaning or hygiene-related experience is an advantage.
- Basic knowledge of cleaning methods, infection prevention, and safe use of cleaning products.
- Ability to follow safety, hygiene, and confidentiality procedures.
- Physically fit and able to perform cleaning duties.
- Willingness to work flexible hours when required.
- Reliable, respectful, and committed to maintaining a dignified, client-friendly environment.
