Minimum Requirements
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Grade 10 / Standard 8 or ABET Level 4 qualification
- Knowledge of Batho Pele Principles
- Understanding of Patients’ Rights and Responsibilities
- Good interpersonal skills
- Professional telephone etiquette
- Willingness to work shifts, including weekends and after hours
Key Responsibilities
Successful candidates will be responsible for:
- Transporting patients via stretcher or wheelchair between wards and departments
- Moving deceased persons to the mortuary
- Releasing bodies after hours and on weekends to funeral homes when required
- Cleaning and washing stretchers and wheelchairs
- Collecting and distributing stretchers and wheelchairs throughout the hospital
This role plays a critical part in ensuring smooth hospital operations and quality patient care.
