Minimum Requirements
- Grade 10, ABET Level 4, or equivalent qualification
- Ability to read and write
- Appropriate experience in the public service will be an added advantage
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work shifts
Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Proper control, handling, and care of theatre instruments
- Practice and maintain infection prevention and control standards
- Washing, sterilising, packing, and autoclaving instruments according to protocol
- Checking and re-sterilising expired sterile packs
- Ensuring sterile packs are always available
- Issuing sterile stock to wards and receiving used packs according to procedure
- Handling and controlling theatre linen
- Receiving clean linen and packing it neatly on shelves
- Reporting shortages of theatre linen to the supervisor
- Preparing torn or damaged linen for condemning
