The Gauteng Department of Health is currently inviting applications for an Administration Clerk position within the Patient Revenue Directorate at the Wits Oral Health Centre. This is a permanent opportunity for individuals with experience in finance or revenue environments.

Key Requirements

To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Education: A valid Grade 12 (Matric) certificate.
  • Experience: At least one year of experience in an Accounts or Revenue Department.
  • Skills: Computer literacy and strong communication skills are essential.
  • Advantageous: Familiarity with SAP, HIS, and BAS systems.
  • Attributes: Ability to work under pressure, knowledge of Batho Pele Principles, and a willingness to rotate within the department.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

The successful candidate will handle various financial administrative tasks, including:

  • Debtor Management: Tracing debtor addresses and submitting accounts to self-funded patients.
  • Debt Recovery: Referring debts to external service providers or the State Attorney.
  • Billing: Completing UPFS charge sheets and verifying invoices on the HIS system.
  • Reporting: Compiling monthly billing monitoring reports for both Inpatient and Outpatient services.
  • Cashier Support: Rotating with the Main Cashier and performing cashier duties as required.
