Salary Packages
- CB1-1: R212 358 per annum
- CB1-2: R257 895 per annum
- CB1-3: R313 521 per annum
Minimum Requirements
- Matric / Grade 12 certificate
- Successful completion of Correctional Science Learnership, Basic Training, or Induction Training Course (ITC)
Experience Requirements by Level:
- CB1-1: No previous experience required
- CB1-2: Minimum of 10 years’ relevant experience at CB1-1 level
- CB1-3: Minimum of 10 years’ relevant experience at CB1-2 level
Competencies and Skills
- Computer literacy
- Firearm competency
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and report-writing skills
- Knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures
- Understanding of minimum security standards within correctional centres
Key Responsibilities
- Perform access control within the correctional centre
- Control and monitor the movement of inmates internally and externally
- Guard inmates within correctional facilities and at external public institutions
- Conduct physical security inspections
- Manage security equipment and correctional centre stores
- Operate and manage the security control room
- Support offender rehabilitation through correction and human development in a secure, safe, and humane environment
