Minimum Requirements

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • National Senior Certificate (Grade 12)
  • A Diploma (NQF Level 6) in Office Management, Public Administration, or Management will be an added advantage
  • Knowledge of clerical duties and administrative practices
  • Understanding of computer operations and basic statistics collection
  • Knowledge of the legislative framework governing the Public Service
  • Familiarity with standard working procedures in an office environment

Skills and Competencies

  • Computer literacy in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Strong organisational and record-keeping skills
  • Basic problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • High ethical standards with the ability to maintain confidentiality

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Recording, organising, capturing, and retrieving correspondence and data
  • Updating incoming and outgoing registers
  • Handling routine enquiries and general office administration
  • Making photocopies and scanning documents
  • Maintaining an efficient filing system
  • Typing official letters and correspondence
  • Liaising with stakeholders regarding procurement of goods and services
  • Obtaining quotations and completing procurement documentation
  • Managing office stationery stock control
  • Maintaining the asset register for the component
  • Managing leave, attendance registers, and personnel records
  • Capturing and updating expenditure records
  • Verifying subsistence and travel claims
  • Managing telephone accounts and petty cash
