Key Responsibilities
Successful candidates will be responsible for maintaining hospital outdoor areas and supporting general property upkeep. Duties include:
- Maintenance and development of hospital gardens and surrounding grounds
- Preparing soil for planting and landscaping activities
- Planting trees, flowers, shrubs, grass, and other plants
- Watering plants and removing weeds on a regular basis
- Collecting and disposing of garden waste responsibly
- Moving furniture and equipment within hospital premises when required
- Safeguarding gardening tools and returning them to storage after use
- Using gardening chemicals safely and correctly
- Assisting with additional duties as instructed by the supervisor
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Minimum qualification of Grade 10 or equivalent
- Physically fit and able to perform manual labour
- Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays when required
- Ability to work under pressure and in different weather conditions
- Basic numeracy and literacy skills
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to wear protective clothing and follow safety procedures
- Ability to liaise effectively with supervisors and other stakeholders
