Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum Grade 10 (authentic school report) OR
    Relevant NQF Level 2 OR ABET Level 4
  • Experience in a public service environmentgroundsmangardener, or property caretaker role will be an added advantage
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team
  • Knowledge of Batho Pele PrinciplesPatients’ Rights, and Six Ministerial Priorities
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, shifts, weekends, and public holidays
  • Physically fit and able to work under pressure

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Plant trees, shrubs, flowers, and other plants
  • Cut lawns, trim edges, prune and clip plants and trees
  • Rake leaves and remove weeds and alien plants
  • Keep pathways, drains, water channels, parking areas, and gutters clean
  • Prepare soil for planting
  • Load and offload materials and equipment
  • Maintain fences and assist with pest control
  • Check, report, and assist with servicing of machinery and equipment
  • Assist with washing windows
  • Empty outside rubbish bins according to schedule
  • Perform any additional duties as delegated by the supervisor
