Minimum Requirements You Must Meet

What Your Daily Responsibilities Will Include
As a Truck Driver, you will take responsibility for the safe and professional delivery and collection of materials and products. Every day will involve planning, time management, communication, and proper record-keeping to ensure smooth operations.
Delivery and Collection Responsibilities
Your main duties will include:
- Ensuring all deliveries and collections are completed according to the daily trip schedule
- Handling stock carefully to prevent damage during transport
- Confirming that the correct stock, the correct quantity, and the right quality are delivered or collected
- Making sure that all delivery and collection documents are filled in and signed properly
- Recording every movement on your trip sheet and submitting it to the Senior Shipping Controller daily
- Reporting delays, accidents, breakdowns, or road issues immediately
- Making sure that your truck is parked in a designated secure area
- Ensuring the vehicle license remains valid and renewed timeously
- Checking the vehicle daily and reporting any damage or maintenance needs
- Ensuring the truck is filled regularly and fuel consumption remains within company standards
- Obeying all road laws and company regulations
These tasks help the company maintain accurate stock records, ensure goods move safely, and avoid operational delays.
Additional Duties as a Forklift Driver
Applicants with a forklift license may also be required to support materials movement inside the plant. Duties may include:
- Transporting raw materials to production areas
- Handling pallets, strip steel, rod, flat wire, and finished goods
- Loading and offloading trucks
- Following correct stacking and storage standards
- Helping with stock counts and inventory checks
- Making sure that materials are correctly labeled and recorded
- Reporting any quality issues immediately
- Ensuring safe forklift driving at all times
- Following health and safety rules and using proper PPE
