What is the AFGRI Farmer Development Learnership?
If you’re a South‑African teen who loves animals, crops, or any kind of farming, this 12‑month learning program can turn that passion into a real job. AFGRI Farmer Development (AFD) runs the course at Vastfontein Farm in Pretoria North, Gauteng, where you’ll get hands‑on work and classroom training that the industry recognises.
The learnership is open to everyone, but AFGRI especially encourages women and people with disabilities to apply. It’s a chance to learn the skills you need to work on a farm or even start your own small business later.
What you’ll get
- A signed 12‑month contract with AFD.
