Role Purpose
The Learner Administration programme is designed to give you both theoretical and practical experience in administrative and business skills. You’ll gain exposure to a range of business functions while contributing to real work. This is an ideal opportunity for someone with a Grade 12 qualification looking to develop in a corporate environment.
What is the Sasol Learner: Administration Learnership?
- It is a 12‑month fixed‑term learnership programme.
- The programme is offered in several locations: Sandton, Secunda, Sasolburg, Durban.
- It combines theoretical training aligned to an NQF Learnership with practical, on‑site work experience. The aim is to build workplace readiness and administrative skills.
What You’ll Do (Key Responsibilities)
As a learnership participant, your tasks will include:
- Provide administrative support to managers and different departments to improve general efficiency.
- Participate in and complete all theoretical learnership modules (subjects like communication, basic business principles, mathematics literacy, computer skills etc.).
- Complete assessments and workplace readiness exercises.
- Apply what you learn in real workplace scenarios—this could include time management, document and workflow management, supporting departmental reporting, coordinating with others etc.
What Sasol Looks for — Requirements
To qualify for the Sasol Learner: Administration programme, you typically need:
- A Matric / Grade 12 certificate.
- Ideally some additional diploma or degree is advantageous (but not strictly required) in relevant fields or any field, depending on specific advertised learnership.
- Minimal to no work experience: often 0‑1 year is acceptable.
- Basic computer skills and ability to use business tools, good communication, and willingness to learn.
- Preference may be given to people living with disabilities. Sasol often has provisions in its Employment Equity plans for that.
