As part of our team, you’ll help maintain our reputation for excellence and play a key role in daily store operations.
Position 1: Cashier
As a Cashier, you’ll be the last point of contact with our customers—and the face they remember! Your responsibility is to ensure a smooth checkout process and leave customers with a positive shopping experience.
Key Duties:
- Operate the till and handle transactions accurately
- Provide friendly and efficient customer service
- Handle cash, card, and voucher payments
- Maintain a clean and organized checkout area
- Follow all store and safety protocols
Requirements:
- Grade 10 or higher
- Excellent customer service skills
- Attention to detail and basic maths skills
- Previous cashier experience is a plus
Position 2: Grocery Merchandiser
Our Grocery Merchandisers ensure shelves are always stocked, products are rotated correctly, and the store looks clean and appealing.
Key Duties:
- Unpack, stock, and display grocery items
- Ensure correct pricing and signage
- Rotate stock and remove expired products
- Assist with stock counts and inventory control
- Keep aisles clean and organized
Requirements:
- Matric or equivalent preferred
- Ability to lift and carry stock
- Good eye for detail
- Must be able to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
Position 3: Fruit & Veg Assistant
As a Fruit and Veg Assistant, you’ll ensure that our fresh produce section stays clean, well-stocked, and visually appealing. You’ll play a key role in maintaining the quality that Food Lover’s Market is known for.
Key Duties:
- Unpack and display fresh produce
- Check for quality and remove spoiled items
- Weigh and label produce correctly
- Assist customers with selections and questions
- Clean work areas to maintain hygiene standards
Requirements:
- Understanding of fresh produce handling
- Friendly, customer-focused attitude
- Able to work in cold environments (cold room/fridge)
- Willingness to work flexible shifts
Position 4: General Food Assistant
Our General Food Assistants support different departments including deli, bakery, hot foods, and prep areas. You’ll help keep operations running smoothly and ensure food is prepared and presented to high standards.
Key Duties:
- Assist with food preparation and packaging
- Maintain cleanliness in food areas
- Follow food safety and hygiene standards
- Support colleagues during busy periods
- Serve customers and answer food-related queries
Requirements:
- Previous experience in food service is beneficial
- Ability to work in fast-paced environments
- Hygiene-conscious and detail-oriented
- Matric preferred but not required
