Key Responsibilities
As a Fire Fighter at NCC Group, your responsibilities will likely include:
- Respond swiftly and effectively to fire emergencies at assigned sites.
- Operate fire suppression equipment, tools, and protective gear safely.
- Conduct fire prevention inspections and risk assessments in buildings, infrastructure, and operations.
- Maintain and inspect firefighting and emergency equipment; ensure they are functional and compliant.
- Participate in regular fire drills, training sessions, and simulations to sharpen response skills.
- Apply safety protocols and procedures, including record-keeping and reporting after incidents.
- Coordinate with internal safety teams and, when needed, external emergency services.
- Assist in educating staff or site personnel on fire safety awareness, evacuation procedures, and emergency response.
Qualifications & Skills
Interested candidates should possess the following:
- Valid Grade 12 / Matric certificate (or equivalent).
- Fire Fighting Certificate or recognized training in Fire Safety, Fire Technology, or related discipline.
- Physical fitness and ability to perform strenuous tasks under stressful, potentially hazardous conditions.
- Good understanding of safety regulations, fire codes, and emergency response procedures.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- Problem-solving skills, calmness under pressure, and decision-making capacity in emergencies.
- Ability to follow instruction and work shifts, possibly including nights, weekends, and on-call duties.
Desirable / Advantageous:
- Previous experience in fire fighting, emergency response, or occupational health & safety.
- First Aid / CPR certification.
- Valid driver’s license.
