Key Responsibilities

As a Fire Fighter at NCC Group, your responsibilities will likely include:

  • Respond swiftly and effectively to fire emergencies at assigned sites.
  • Operate fire suppression equipment, tools, and protective gear safely.
  • Conduct fire prevention inspections and risk assessments in buildings, infrastructure, and operations.
  • Maintain and inspect firefighting and emergency equipment; ensure they are functional and compliant.
  • Participate in regular fire drills, training sessions, and simulations to sharpen response skills.
  • Apply safety protocols and procedures, including record-keeping and reporting after incidents.
  • Coordinate with internal safety teams and, when needed, external emergency services.
  • Assist in educating staff or site personnel on fire safety awareness, evacuation procedures, and emergency response.
Qualifications & Skills

Interested candidates should possess the following:

  • Valid Grade 12 / Matric certificate (or equivalent).
  • Fire Fighting Certificate or recognized training in Fire Safety, Fire Technology, or related discipline.
  • Physical fitness and ability to perform strenuous tasks under stressful, potentially hazardous conditions.
  • Good understanding of safety regulations, fire codes, and emergency response procedures.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Problem-solving skills, calmness under pressure, and decision-making capacity in emergencies.
  • Ability to follow instruction and work shifts, possibly including nights, weekends, and on-call duties.
Desirable / Advantageous:
  • Previous experience in fire fighting, emergency response, or occupational health & safety.
  • First Aid / CPR certification.
  • Valid driver’s license.
