Job Title: UIF Client Service Officer
Salary: R269,499 per annum (Level 7)

Centres: Multiple Labour Centres and Satellite Offices across Mpumalanga
This is an excellent opportunity to join a government department that plays a key role in supporting South African workers through the Unemployment Insurance Fund (UIF).
Purpose of the Job
The UIF Client Service Officer will be responsible for providing professional customer service, processing applications for unemployment benefits, and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and departmental procedures. Successful candidates will assist clients in accessing UIF benefits efficiently and accurately.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide effective screening services for all UIF-related applications.
- Assist clients by capturing and processing applications for UIF benefits.
- Register and manage payment continuation forms.
- Deliver administrative support to ensure the smooth functioning of the Labour Centre.
- Maintain accurate records and uphold the confidentiality of all client information.
- Apply knowledge of UIF policies, procedures, and relevant legislation in day-to-day operations.
- Offer courteous and professional assistance to clients in line with Batho Pele Principles.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must meet the following minimum criteria:
- Grade 12 / Senior Certificate / Matric qualification.
- 0 to 6 months of relevant experience.
- Basic knowledge of the following Acts and Regulations:
- Unemployment Insurance Act and Regulations
- Unemployment Insurance Contributions Act
- Public Finance Management Act (PFMA)
- Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA)
- Treasury Regulations and Batho Pele Principles
Required Skills and Competencies
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal abilities.
- Computer literacy (MS Office).
- Effective time management and organisational skills.
- Analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to interpret UIF legislation and apply it correctly.
- Good listening and conflict management skills.
- Telephone etiquette and professionalism.
