About the Role
The Motorbike Driver will play a vital role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and timely delivery of automotive parts and products. The position requires responsibility, reliability, and a commitment to maintaining high delivery standards while providing excellent customer service.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Successful applicants will be responsible for a range of operational tasks, including:
- Inspecting vehicles before departure and upon return, with inspection lists signed off weekly by the Dispatch Supervisor.
- Reporting any vehicle faults immediately before leaving the premises.
- Checking parcels with the runner or supervisor before loading, following the New Dispatch Loading procedure.
- Delivering parcels along designated routes according to trip schedules and trip sheets.
- Ensuring strict adherence to Proof of Delivery (POD) and Returned For Credit (RFC) procedures.
- Submitting all documents and collection slips assigned to trips, with completed PODs signed in at the POD clerk.
- Taking accountability for outstanding trip sheets and associated claims.
- Maintaining cleanliness of the vehicle and reporting any issues promptly.
- Informing the Dispatch Supervisor of problems encountered during deliveries or with PODs.
- Performing any other reasonable instructions as assigned by management.
Qualifications and Experience Required
To qualify for this role, candidates should have the following:
- Grade 12 / Matric certificate (preferable).
- Valid motorcycle licence.
- Strong integrity and honesty.
- Good communication skills and ability to interact with customers at all levels.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Commitment to providing excellent customer service at all times.
