About the Code 14 Driver Role

The main responsibility of a Code 14 Driver is to safely transport goods to their destinations while following all road safety rules and company policies. This role is perfect for someone who is responsible, organized, and experienced in handling heavy vehicles.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

As a Code 14 Driver, your daily tasks will include:

Planning your driving route to find the most efficient and convenient paths.
Adjusting routes when necessary to avoid traffic jams and road construction.
Loading and unloading goods safely and carefully.
Keeping a positive attitude and representing the company professionally.
Reporting any road incidents or delays immediately.
Performing truck inspections before and after each trip to ensure safety.
Managing yard parking and following proper procedures.
Making sure all Proof of Delivery (POD) documents are correctly signed and stamped.
Debriefing on time after completing deliveries.
Reporting vehicle defects or mechanical issues as soon as they are noticed.
Following all traffic laws and company regulations.
Performing preventative maintenance checks and keeping accurate records.

Minimum Requirements

To qualify for this position, you must meet the following requirements:

Matric certificate or equivalent qualification.
At least 3 years of driving experience with heavy vehicles.
A valid Code 14 (EC) driver’s license with a Professional Driving Permit (PDP).

Having a clean driving record and a strong safety mindset will give you an added advantage.
