Impala Platinum Refineries P1 & P2 Chemical Engineering Learnerships 2026 – 7 Positions Open

Impala Platinum Refineries (Implats) is giving South African Chemical Engineering students a golden opportunity to complete their P1 & P2 Work Integrated Learning (WIL) Programme in 2026. With seven positions available, this programme is designed for students who have already finished their theoretical modules and now need practical workplace experience to graduate.

Applications are open until 29 August 2025, and the programme officially begins in January 2026 at Implats’ Springs operations in Gauteng.

What is the P1 & P2 Chemical Engineering Learnership?

Many graduates find themselves stuck after completing their coursework because they lack the workplace exposure required for a National Diploma in Chemical Engineering (NQF Level 6). Implats addresses this challenge by offering structured hands-on training in a world-class refinery environment.

Learners will work under skilled engineers, mentors, and coaches while gaining exposure to real-life chemical engineering processes. This experience bridges the gap between theory and practice, ensuring that students graduate with both academic knowledge and industry readiness.
