Instructor Maintenance Learnership

Toyota South Africa Motors is offering an exciting Instructor Maintenance Learnership opportunity within its Technical Training Centre in Durban. This 12-month fixed-term contract aims to equip professionals with technical facilitation, assessment, and moderation skills to support high-quality automotive production and training excellence. Purpose of the Role

To support the delivery of effective technical training through facilitation, assessment, and moderation in the Motorised Division. The successful candidate will help ensure Toyota’s high standards in vehicle production are upheld through quality training and skills development aligned with TETA and DOL requirements.

Key Performance Areas

  • Identify and address Toyota and TETA training needs.
  • Facilitate technical operator training based on unit standards.
  • Assess learners in line with unit standard criteria.
  • Conduct moderation processes according to TETA procedures.
  • Develop curriculum modules aligned with TETA accreditation.
  • Facilitate and assess cross-skilled modules at the Technical Training Centre.
  • Drive staff development and ensure compliance with the training loading schedule.
  • Communicate training requirements effectively to staff.
  • Ensure ISO 9001 and 14001, safety, and quality system compliance.
  • Contribute to budget and cost-down strategies through innovative training.
  • Oversee management of lifting equipment and training stores.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • NQF Level 4 qualification.
  • AMIC in Production (essential).
  • 3–5 years’ experience in a technical training environment, ideally in the automotive sector.

  • Registered Facilitator
  • Registered Assessor
  • Registered Moderator
  • TETA Accreditation
  • MS Office proficiency
