As part of our continued growth, we are seeking to appoint a General Worker at our Secunda facility. This role suits a hands-on, dependable individual eager to support operational success in an industrial setting.
Role Overview
The General Worker is responsible for assisting with daily plant and workshop operations, including maintenance, cleaning, and labour support. This role is crucial to maintaining a safe, organised, and functional site that complies with all health and safety standards.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
Your tasks will include, but are not limited to:
1. Landscaping and Grounds Maintenance
- Cutting grass and maintaining green areas around the plant
- Trimming overgrowth and removing vegetation to ensure a neat, hazard-free environment
2. Civil Maintenance Support
- Assisting with maintenance of civil equipment and infrastructure
- Supporting technicians during basic inspections and repairs
3. Painting and Road Markings
- Repainting curbs, internal roadways, and safety lines
- Ensuring all markings are clear and meet safety compliance standards
4. General Housekeeping
- Cleaning plant, workshop, and outdoor areas
- Maintaining a hygienic and organised work environment
5. Manual Labour and Operational Support
- Carrying, loading, and offloading materials, tools, and waste
- Providing physical support during various operational tasks as required
Minimum Requirements
To be eligible for this role, applicants must meet the following criteria:
Education
- Grade 12 (Matric) – A National Senior Certificate is a minimum requirement
Experience
- Prior exposure to a mechanical, industrial, or explosives environment will be beneficial
Physical Requirements
- Must be physically fit and capable of lifting and performing labour-intensive tasks
- Comfortable working on your feet for extended periods
Skills and Competencies
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions accurately
- Awareness and adherence to safety procedures, particularly in high-risk environments
