About Baxter Theatre

Job Purpose and Opportunity
This opportunity is ideal for people who are passionate about customer service and want to grow their skills in the hospitality industry. Whether you are serving guests at the bar, assisting with stock management, or ensuring the venue runs smoothly, your work will directly contribute to the theatre’s lively atmosphere.
These roles are ad-hoc positions, meaning you will work based on the theatre’s schedule and event needs.
Salary Range: Between R3,000 and R6,000 per month, depending on hours worked and experience.
Minimum Requirements
To qualify for these roles, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Matric certificate or equivalent (NQF Level 4).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Fluent in English and at least one other official South African language.
- Able to work well under pressure, both independently and as part of a team.
- Quick-thinking and alert, especially in emergencies.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Knowledge and experience using Point-of-Sale (POS) systems.
Bonus Skills and Experience (Advantageous but not required):
- 3–5 years of experience in the hospitality industry, especially in food and beverage services.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
If you are selected, your day-to-day duties will include:
- Providing friendly and professional service to customers and staff.
- Preparing and serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.
- Taking customer orders and handling payments using the POS system.
- Balancing daily cash transactions and reconciling sales records.
- Monitoring and managing stock levels to prevent shortages or wastage.
- Keeping the bar area clean and hygienic at all times.
- Following the Liquor Act of the Western Cape to ensure legal compliance.
- Adhering to the Baxter Theatre’s bar code of conduct.
- Assisting with parking duties when needed.
